  • Let’s face it, anxiety is a way of life. Some people have it worse than others, but most people suffer with anxiety and nervousness. Unfortunately, when people become overwhelmed with anxiety due to having many things to do in a day, there is one unwanted side effect. That side effect is excessive sweating.

You might be asking yourself, “Why do I sweat so much?” The answer depends in many factors, but the good news is you can solve the problem by using stronger products or by turning to some DIY remedies. In fact, a few of the top DIY remedies people can try as shown below.

    DIY Remedies

. Vinegar: Vinegar can be used to prevent profuse sweating. There are a few ways to use vinegar to help you. One idea is to mix a teaspoon of apple cider and two teaspoons of vinegar. Drink that concoction three times per day. Another way to use vinegar is to dab it on the part of the body that is prone to sweating. For example, vinegar can be dabbed to the palms of the hands or the underarms. For the best results, vinegar should be topically applied before going to bed.

. Shave Your Underarms: Whether you’re a man or a woman, you should shave off all the hairs under your arm. It doesn’t matter if you have a tiny amount of hair, get rid of it. Hair retains moisture, and the more hair you have under your arms, the more moisture your hairs will accumulate. By simply shaving your hair, you may prevent sweating under the pits altogether or drastically reducing it.

. Eat Right: Do not underestimate the effectiveness of eating the right foods. Eating certain foods can reduce excessive sweating. There are foods that won’t overstimulate the nervous system. These foods include bananas, oats, most veggies and fruits, olive oil, and almonds. Incorporate those into your diet regularly and, within a short period of time, you should notice a difference.

. Lemons: Lemon is a citrus fruit that is used in water or as a topping on many foods. What people might not know is lemon is a natural deodorant. All you need is half a lemon and then apply it under your arms. Let it absorb into your skin and wait 30 minutes before washing the juice off of your skin. Do this one to two times per day, preferably right before you head to bed.

. Specialized Undershirts: There are specialized undershirts a person can wear. These shirts are designed to absorb body sweat, as well as release the sweat as a vapor. What this does is keep you dry and prevents sweat marks from appearing. These types of shirts are made with materials that wick away moisture. The best undershirts are made with high-quality materials, such as natural rayon and combed cotton.

It’s also worth pointing out that specialized undershirts typically last longer than regular undershirts. This makes them worth buying and wearing regularly.

    Other Options

There are a few other options, such as using medications such as Robinul. Such medicines work to prevent the sweat glands from becoming stimulated, thus preventing excessive sweating.

Besides medications, using powerful antiperspirants might do the trick. Ideally, a person should use an antiperspirant that contains around 20% of aluminum chloride hexahydrate. There is antiperspirant that contains higher amounts than that, but they are typically prescribed in extreme cases of excessive sweating.

Another option for those suffering from excessive sweating is Botox. There are doctors who use Botox on patients’ palms, armpits, or the soles of the feet, which are all areas that are prone to excessive sweating. Botox is effective because it works by preventing a chemical from being released. The chemical that is blocked sends out signals that activate the sweat glands.

Anxiety and nervousness seem to be a part of daily life. However, you do not have to deal with excessive sweating as a result of anxiety and nervousness. It’s advisable to try a few of the previously discussed DIY remedies or speak with a doctor about the other options out there.
