Being in the ever-changing music industry, becoming a DJ requires an artist to be flexible and open to learning new things as they come. But once you master the art of DJing, you are more open to try new things and be someone else. Such is the story of DJ Harsh Mahant, a 24-year-old DJ from Indore who has been behind the console since he was 17. After mastering the craft of being a full-time DJ, Harsh wanted to expand his skills and thus, moved to the city of dreams, Mumbai to follow his passion of being a DJ and Producer at the same time. Being a music producer and a DJ meant not only playing banger music for the crowd, but he also helped him create it, taking his craft in a whole new direction.

When asked about how is being a producer different from being a DJ, Harsh says that it is much more challenging as he has been DJing for quite a while now. He understands how difficult it is to keep up with the latest music trends; if you focus on just one thing you miss out on the others. So, while he plays the best beats to his audience in his role as a DJ, but as a producer, he is also in charge of creating his own amazing music. So while both of his careers deal with music, the similarities end right there!

When a DJ adds being a producer to the mix, their responsibilities also increases. On being asked how has the responsibilities changed after he became a producer, he says his grip on getting good music every day had to be strengthened. While Harsh says he is still a work in progress on that front, he aspires to produce his own mixes that are bangers so that when he goes out there as a DJ, he has his own amazing music to play to his audience.

So if you are a DJ who wants to expand their craft and become a producer to make your own music to groove your audience to, DJ Harsh Mahant has some great advice for you. First and foremost, you have to be sure of your craft and believe in it enough to make the transition. Then comes the hardwork required to improve one’s skill while performing on the stage. This can also be followed by trying your hand at creating some remixes that carry your style with them. Therefore, with a desire to do more, the hardwork that you put into your work and trying your hands at creating your own music, you too can make the transition from being just a DJ to a DJ and Producer!Attachments area
