Pune : Symbiosis International University instated Dr. Bhushan Keshav Patwardhan as Vice Chancellor of Symbiosis International University. A Search-cum-Selection Committee constituted as per the University Grants Commission Regulation-2010, submitted its recommendations to Dr.S.B.Mujumdar, Chancellor, Symbiosis International University (SIU) & appointed Dr. Bhushan Keshav Patwardhan as Vice Chancellor.

With over 20 years in academic and University governance at University of Pune, Professor Bhushan Patwardhan brings a unique blend of Industry-Academia executive culture. Over 200 publications, international Patents and 18 PhD students, he has attracted substantial research funding from national and international agencies. He has been a Convener of national committee on Promotion of Indian Higher Education Abroad (PIHEAD) of the UGC, member of Boards of several Universities and national institutions, member Taskforce of National Knowledge Commission and Planning Commission, Karnataka Innovation Council, Consultant to WHO Geneva and SEARO. He has worked as Chief Academics with Manipal Education group in Bangalore and as Director of Institute of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine, Bangalore.

The selection committee consisted of Dr.R.A.Mashelkar – Chairman and Nominee of the Board of Management, Dr.Dinesh Singh – Nominee of the Government of India and Dr.Venkat R. Gunale – Nominee of the Chancellor-Symbiosis International University.
