Haflong :In order to ensure zero accident on the last day of this year, a massive drive is being carried out by the police along with the transport and excise department officials. Strict enforcement drive is taken out throughout the state including in Dima Hasao district.
As per the data received 501 number of motor vehicle violation cases have been booked since 1st till 29th December 2021 with 3 numbers of driving license suspension, 124 number of helmet cases in Dima Hasao have been booked. Since 25th December last, 1 number of accidents is recorded in this district with nil fatality and one injured till date.
As a part of the initiative, various check points have been placed at strategic locations in district head quarter to keep a check on drunken driving, over speeding of vehicles and other violation of traffic rules.
Strict enforcement drive has been taken out against two-wheeler driving without helmet by both rider and pillion rider, not wearing of seat belts, carrying of excess passengers, rash driving and loud music.
