    Published on December 21, 2010

United States : Data Systems International(DSI) has announced the general release of MOBILEApps Service for DSI’s mobile platform, dcLINK. MOBILEApps Service enables field technicians to gain control of work order data remotely, boosting productivity while reducing duplicate entries and paperwork.

“Service providers want to leverage technology to facilitate more complete service by their technicians and to provide customers with better information about the service provided,” said Jim Hoskins, Product Manager for DSI. “The Service module gives technicians complete real-time access to a wealth of information, drastically reducing downtime. It provides convenient access to work orders, equipment and service history, contract and warranty information, and customer details. Service can also log mileage and time-to-task, and capture signatures to confirm service completion for quicker invoicing.”

As with all of DSI’s mobile application solutions, MOBILEApps Service is designed to work in a connected or disconnected mode. Remote workers are able to complete tasks regardless of network coverage.

“Virtually everything a field worker needs to complete a service work order is located in one easy-to-use application on their mobile devices,” Hoskins said. “Access to this information helps field personnel make better decisions at the work site, reducing unplanned, future maintenance calls and increasing customer satisfaction. Every service vehicle deployment has a cost associated with it. Decreasing the number of repeat or unplanned maintenance visits is a great way for companies to reduce costs.”

All MOBILEApps are built using the dcLINK mobile platform which provides diverse mobile device deployment options, standard integrations to leading commercial enterprise applications and databases, multi-language capability, and customization.
