    Published on November 3, 2010

A moderate earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale struck Serbia early Wednesday, seismologists said, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The quake hit at (0056 GMT) with its epicentre at 10 kilometres north of the central city of Kraljevo, the Serbian seismological institute said.

It was felt across the country, including the capital Belgrade. The US Geological Survey measured it with a magnitude of 5.3 at a relatively shallow depth of 10 kilometres.

The quake was immediately followed by four other less powerful aftershocks, the Serbian institute said.
