Mangaldai : A joint meeting of the Vidyalaya Management Committee (VMC) , Vidyalaya Advisory Committee (VAC) and Vidyalaya Coordination Committee (VCC) of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) , Darrang on Tuesday has stressed the need of coordinated efforts from all stake holders for promoting the only residential school under HRD Ministry in the district as a role model for other such schools in the entire North Eastern region . The meeting presided over by Ashok Kr Barman, Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of all the committees and attended by almost all the members of the above mentioned three committees discussed various issues for finding long time and short time solutions related to the student welfare including skin disorders of students arising out of use of the water with very high quantity of iron content , improving of the deplorable internal roads by bituminous carpeting , academic improvement , maintaining of strict discipline , earth development of the school playground , medical and health screening of the students and enrolling genuine candidates in the school among others . The meeting discussed about the sources of fund to address the issues relating to the infrastructure development and directed the representatives of concerned govt departments like PHE , PWD and Zila Parishad to carry forward the developmental issues for an urgent outcome . The meeting also reviewed the performances and activities of the students in games and sports , art & culture and other co-curricular activities in addition to performances in the Class XII and Class X final Board exams .
The meeting expressed deep satisfaction over the significant qualitative progress of the students in all these fields and offered thanks and gratitude to the entire teaching and non teaching staff of the JNV Darrang under the able leadership of Principal P. Rajesh for giving the school a complete facelift just over a period of around one and half year . The meeting passed several resolutions including strict disciplinary action against those students violating disciplines repeatedly and empowered the Principal to take decision in this regard in the best interest of the other students and future of the school and asking teachers for supervising studies in the morning and evening period of time in response to the demands of the sincere students . Inspector of Schools , Darrang Nagen Ch Boro also spoke on the occasion as Devika Dutta , a senior PGT of the school delivered welcome address . The beginning of the meeting marked with a chorus presented by the choir group of the school .
