He said that every state in the Northeast is an integral part of India. He said, “Narendra Modi says that NE means ‘the new engine of India’s development’ and he describes the region as an integral part of India’s development”.He also said that northeast is the lung of India, as 26% of the country is found in forest area, and thus, the region is providing oxygen to the country, he said. Northeast is culturally important in terms of border security, but we will soon develop it as a trade and commerce center within 10 years. Shah said that the development would happen to such an extent that Delhiites would soon come in search of better employment opportunities in the Northeast. “Soon, the Delhites will come here seeking jobs. “We have freed the Northeast from Congress, and all eight states are now under the Northeast Democratic Alliance (NEDA),” he said, taking a sarcasm at the rival Congress party.
