    Government is committed to promote adoption of orphan, abandoned and surrendered children through its initiatives and schemes to provide them family based environment. Inaugurating the 3rd international meet on adoption in New Delhi this morning, Women and Child Development minister Krishna Tirath stressed for coordination among adoption agencies and states to ensure an ethical and transparent adoption system adhering to international standards. Saying that adoption is a evolving institution that changes to fit the perceived needs of children who need families, Ms Tirath asked the adoption agencies to ensure expeditious, smooth and transparent adoption. She said, Central Adoption Resource Authority has facilitated online reservation and matching of mentally and physically challenged children by prospective parents abroad through their authorized agencies or central authorities for fast placement. The minister urged the participating international agencies to share research findings and success stories related to the subject and discuss common issues to further streamline the adoption system.
