  • Facility Management Professionals play an important role in keeping brand value of Hyderabad: Jayesh Ranjan, Principle Secretary, Govt of Telangana

    Hyderabad: Hyderabad got universal recognition for attracting knowledge based industries such IT, Life Sciences, Animation, Gaming, Defence, Aerospace, Bio-Technology said Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Government of Telangana. We left many cities far behind. The value proposition we offer to companies put Hyderabad much ahead of other cities in India like Bangalore, Pune, Chennai, Delhi, Gurgaon. None can match the totality and holistic picture of Hyderabad, he added

    He was the chief guest at the inauguration of 7th Telangana Facility Management Council Summit, an annual event of 400 strong Facility Management professionals in Hyderabad held on Friday at Anvaya  Conventions at Gachibowli Financial District.

    Government alone can’t be responsible. Together with government helped create positive word about Hyderabad. We must continue to remain ahead. Hyderabad may not be number one to compare to those cities, but our growth is much superior compared to them, Jayesh told 400 plus Facility Management professionals gathered at the Summit.

    Facility Management professionals play a very important role in brand value of Hyderabad, Jayesh told He told the gathering to adapt technology to improve their internal efficiency.

    The top IT officer of the State Government expressed his happiness in TFMC signing MoU with NITHM—National institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management the premier body for grooming young management students. Hospitality and Tourism has greater relevance to Facility Management profession he told.

    Jayesh Ranjan also appealed to IT professionals to patronise more to handlooms. He urged them to encourage especially younger IT folks to go for handloom clothes.

    Due to the sustained efforts of TFMC and their IT Handloom Initiative, nearly two lakh IT employees in over 200 companies purchased handlooms clothes worth rupees one crore, which is a huge achievement Mr Rajan told the gathering.

    Any initiative taken up must sustain for a long time said Jayesh. And added that the intensity of many initiatives such as Car Pooling, Car Free Thursday, Cyckle to Work, Honking Not Ok etc which were taken up with lot of enthusiasm some time ago died down. Though they helped create awareness and sensitized people but they couldn’t sustain for longer period of time. So plan initiatives which long for a longer period of time, Jayesh told the FM professionals.

    Satyanarayana Mathala, President of TFMC, said it all began with couple of FM professionals is now grown into 400 strong body. The Last Mile Connectivity initiative resulted in 6000 IT employees using Hyd Metro Rail service to back and forth from their respective Homes and Offices, Satya informed.

    FM is highly fragmented and is mostly unorganised but it is growing very fast, Satya informed.

    TFMC collaborates with SEZ officers, STPI officers, CEO’s CTO’s, CFO’s, Facilities heads across India, Hyderabad Metro Rail, GHMC Commissioner, HMWSSB Commissioner, TSIIC Chairman, Principle Secretary , Pollution Board, Electricity Board, and others, Satya added.

    Mr. Ranjan inaugurated the stall of Sunline, a US based furniture company. The company  is into Cubicles, unique cost effective workstations. It has India presence in Hyderabad for the past one year. Soon by the end of June, it is setting up an office cum showroom in Road Number 36 in Jubilee Hills. We will also be opening a warehouse to stock about one thousand workstations. It will be located in and around Shamshabad informed Madhava Reddy, Regional Manager of Sunline.

    By the year 2020 we will be setting up a manufacturing facility in Telangana. It will come up in one lakh square foot area. This will be used to explort to USA and Canada. We are scouting for the area. It will generate employment to 300 to 400 people he stated.

    The company is yet to finalise its project report for the manufacturing facility. The details such as investment and other will only be known once we freeze our project report informed Madhava Reddy.

    Sunline Cubicles are easiest cubicle in the world to assemble—or disassemble and reconfigure when it’s time for a change, he informed.

    FM is a 24×7 and 365 day job. It is a every challenging job. In one word it is a “Chowkidaar” job said FM professionals. FMs are enablers, they are go getters, they are all rounders said some participants. We are faceless professionals. We do a thankless job they added. But it is now becoming more and more professional, they shared.

    FMs plays a mom and dad role to the employees at their work place informed a participant.
