  • Fame, Recognition and Reward beckon the best projects at ELECRAMA-2012

    Mumbai : Thousands of engineering students across India have the chance to slug it out for fame, recognition and handsome cash rewards at their favorite Engineer Infinite competition to be held alongside ELECRAMA-2012 – the world’s largest electrical Transmission & Distribution exhibition organised by Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers Association (IEEMA)

    “We are offering engineering students a rare opportunity to display their talent on a global canvas at ELECRAMA-2012 which will be held in January 2012. Visitors from 120 countries will witness our engineering talent. The growth opportunities in Power Sector are mammoth: Power Infrastructure is expected to grow to US$ 600 billion and Power Efficiency is expected to grow to US$ 300 billion. Our engineers have a great deal of contribution to make in both these sectors. And for students, the opportunity to showcase innovation, practical applications and problem solving aptitude can’t get better than this,” said Mrs. Indra Prem Menon, Chairperson, ELECRAMA-2012.

    Engineer Infinite 2012 (EI 12) is an Under Graduate, Post Graduate and Diploma Program student level project competition and is open to students in the engineering disciplines of Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Instrumentation and allied branches.  EI 12 will have six prizes with total prize money of Rs. 5,50,000. The winning team will get Rs 2,00,000 cash prize and certificates for the college and faculty member acting as guide to the team. The first and second runners up will receive Rs 1,00,000 and Rs50,000 each respectively. The last date for project submission is 15th September 2011.

    During ELECRAMA-2010, Engineer Infinite competition received 428 entries from across the country of which 40 select projects were displayed for the final competition. The distinguished visitors to the student pavilion, which housed the finalists, included Ministers of Central and State Governments, Industry captains, Policy makers and Administrators. On the basis of on site assessment by an eminent jury, six projects were awarded prizes. The prizes were awarded by Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh, then Union Minister for Heavy Industries, at a glittering function.

    The winning project was ‘Floating Hydro Electric Power Generator’ from West Bengal, a project by students from Jadavpur University, Mallabhum Institute of Technology and Techno India.

    Intending Students are encouraged to register themselves and their teams including faculty guide, as also upload their project abstracts in the competition web site www.ei12.elecrama.com. The abstracts can also be submitted via E Mail and as hardcopy material.

    From among the Project entries received upto September 15, finalists will be selected and announced by October 31, 2011. Selected finalists will display their models between January 18 and 22, 2012 under the aegis of Elecrama-2012 .They will be given a project grant of Rs 10,000 towards building of the project model and a fixed financial assistance to partially meet expenses of travel and stay during the exhibition.
