  • Bengaluru:- LimeRoad, India’s leading independent fashion platform, has said it is back in business post the 45-day lockdown period and has begun to deliver products in the lifestyle and fashion range to its customers living in the orange and green zones in India.

On May 4, 2020, the Indian government allowed some relaxations in the orange and green zones including allowing deliveries of non-essential items by e-commerce firms, following which LimeRoad has been rapidly re-connecting with its partners and vendors to resume services. Within 24 hours, LimeRoad has made available on its platform, fashion and beauty essentials ranging from loungewear, athleisure and inner wear to skincare and haircare products, to name a few.

As the lockdown opens up partially, LimeRoad is preparing to enter a period of tremendous operational complexity. LimeRoad is expecting a massive surge in essentials within the lifestyle category and are rapidly activating deep supply networks around these products. By helping thousands of their partner sellers and the MSME community with short-term issues they faced during this period such as inventory management, availability of labour, travel passes and raw material, LimeRoad have enabled them to bounce back, facilitating in their own way, India’s economic recovery.

The company has also offered its partners access to contract labour and workers so that they can operate their warehouses across shifts and fulfil all customer demands efficiently. To deal with complexities within the courier networks, LimeRoad is using minute-based fetch API in all containment pin codes where the Cash-On-Delivery option has been temporarily suspended so as to minimise cash handling by people.
