Delhi : Rario, the world’s first officially licensed cricket digital collectibles platform, announced South Africa’s finest Fast Bowler Lungi Ngidi, and Right-hand Batsman batter Temba Bavuma’s exclusive partnership with the platform to launch their own non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Lungi and Temba join Faf Du Plessis, Quinton de Kock, Aaron Finch, Shakib Al Hasan, Rishabh Pant, Virendra Sehwag, Zaheer Khan, Smriti Mandhana, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rashid Khan, Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel, and many more.

Lungi Ngidi is a South African professional cricket player who has been the fast bowling spearhead for the national team. Bowling at a searing pace of up to 140 kph, he is known for using an open-chested action and is equally comfortable during both the opening overs as well as the death. He was one of the five Cricketers of the Year in the 2018 South African Cricket Annual Awards. He joined the Delhi Capitals IPL team in February 2022.

Temba Bavuma is an ace right-hand batter serving as the captain of South Africa’s limited-overs (one-day international and twenty-twenty international) squad. He also happens to be the vice-captain of the test team. He was the first black African cricketer to lead the team and score a century in a Test match for South Africa.

Both these superstars, Lungi Ngidi and Temba Bavuma, are managed by the world renowned sports agency Roc Nation Sports International.

Speaking on the partnership, Lungi Ngidi said, “I cannot contain my excitement about the launch of my Non-Fungible Tokens exclusively with Rario. I have always been a keen follower of technology, and getting my own NFTs with Rario, the biggest cricket NFT platform in the world, seems like a dream come true! I believe this is an excellent illustration of how technology and sports can not only coexist but support each other to create a higher degree of excitement for the fans.”

Temba Bavuma added, “The game of cricket has millions of followers worldwide, and cricketers like us give their blood and sweat and their very best on the pitch to perform for them. With the evolution of technology and the advent of NFTs, players can now connect and engage with fans to a greater degree. Till now, fans could engage with the sport by watching live matches and rewatching clips and videos. Now, with Rario, they can actually own their favourite moments of their favourite sports.”

Rario Co-Founder and CEO, Ankit Wadhwa, said “Lungi Ngidi and Temba Bavuma have risen to the level of stars in the international cricketing universe, and have made their mark as two of the finest players of the game. They are absolute fan favourites and I am sure they will make amazing additions to the star-studded group of cricketing greats who are a part of our lineup. Their bankability as players will make their Player Card NFTs highly sought after in the Rario ecosystem.”

Rario has been committed to enhancing the experience of cricket fans, and the launch of the NFT marketplace, the D3 game that has more than 2000 fans playing the game every day, new player sign ups, and recent NFT pack-drops are all a part of the brand’s endeavour to add a new layer of engagement with Cricket, as a sport.
