Fertilizer Subsidy allocation has seen a hike of around 10,000 crore rupees in the Union Budget. An
Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister, DV Sadananda Gowda said, the increased allocation towards the Fertilizer Subsidy would further help in increasing the efficiency of subsidy transfers to the farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
According to the Fiscal Policy statement of the Budget, a total of over 610 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizers have been sold under DBT scheme from March 2018 to May 2019.
