    Revival And Modernisation Of  Handloom Sector To Provide Large Employment Especially To The Women In The Country

    Two Day Handloom And Textile Show ‘Anshukam- With The Theme ‘Weaving Stories Through Threads’ Begins

    New Delhi: FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) an apex body of business women in the country in the coming years will be focusing on finding new markets and linkages for the handloom sector in India and abroad by directly working with the artisans across the nation .

     “We will be help the small and medium  artisans and weavers revive and modernise the  Handloom sector as per changing needs and demands of the market and make them introduce new products and services “ said Ms Jyanti Dalmia , National President, FICCI ladies Organisation (FLO) while speaking at the  Two-day Textile and handloom show titled   ‘Anshukam’ here today.

     “The Two day event ‘Anshukam’ with the theme ‘Weaving Stories Through threads’ will help weavers and artisans from various parts of the country with buyers both national and international , designers, exporters and e-commerce. The event will also help provide market linkages to manufacturers of handloom and textiles and introduce new products and services “ said Ms Dalmia.

     “Contribution of handloom weavers and their efforts in preserving our rich heritage has helped our economy grow for centuries as well as providing employment to a large population in rural India. Recent revival of traditional Indian fabric seeing new avenues in new age clothing  Urban women today take pride in wearing Indian handloom. And again, there are very few who can afford the handloom.” She said,

     “With India assuming presidency of Group 20 or G20 summit for the year 2023  FLO plans to organize various trade events including promoting traditional handloom among member countries “ Ms Dalmia added

    “The major highlights of the Two day event  include about 70 stalls put up by artisans and designers showcasing latest trends in textiles and handlooms from various states in the country, series of fashions shows, talk shows , screening of documentaries, Ikebana demonstration inspired by Textiles, Organic dying work, textile painting show, and cultural events “ said Ms Madhuri Halwasiya, FLO national initiative head for Textile and Handlooms.

    During the opening of the Two day event Ms Manjari Mishra, princess of Ayodhya and an eminent fashion designer herself along with past presidents of FLO including Ms Abha Dalmia, Ms Vasvi Bharat Ram and secretary general FLO MS Rashmi Sarita and Treasurer Ms Poonam Mahajan were present
