    Final Electoral Rolls for BTC election released in Chirang

    Kajalgaon(Chirang): The Final Publication of Electoral Rolls for 13-Chirang (ST), 14-Chirang Duar (ST) and 15- Kajalgaon (ST) Bodoland Territorial Constituencies (BTCC) was formally released Thursday.
    The Returning Officer (DEO) and Deputy Commissioner,Chirang Gautam Talukdar released the Final Publication of Electoral Rolls in a meeting held on Thursday here at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commisssioner office, Chirang in the presence of Asstt. Returning Officers and local representatives of political parties.
    Talukdar informed that the total numbers voters of 13-Chirang (ST) BTCC was 60358 with 30411 males, 29946 females and 1 third gender,14-Chirang Duar (ST) BTCC was 50103 with 24991 males, 25111 females and 1 third gender and 15-Kajalgaon (ST) BTCC was 56992 with 28192 males and 28800 females.
    As compared to the total voters of last BTC election in 2015, the number of voters in these constituencies has increased by 11.17%, 11.79% and 10.45% respectively in the final electoral rolls of the 2020, he added.
    He further said as per the scheduled of BTC election, 2020, the final list of these poling stations would be published on March 10, 2020.
    Talukara called upon the representatives of Political Parties to insist the voters to exercise their rights as there was a saying that wider participation is needed for a healthy democracy. “Unless people participated in election process there will be no
    clean and fair election”, he further added.
    The meeting was attended by Addl. Deputy Commissioners – Karmadev Brahma, Biswajit Goswami, Election Officer Jogadish Brahma, Ringkhang Basumatary, Asstt. Commissioner, Arun Kr. Brahma, Circle Officer, Sidli and the representatives of BJP, Cong(I), BPF and UPPL political parties.
