FLAME, a new ageeducational institute for Liberal Education, Business, Communication Studiesand Performing Arts, Pune, is set to host its first ever inter-collegiatefestival – CREÕ for collegians across the country. Presented by the muchloved Cafe Coffee Day, thefestival will be held on 10th and11th December 2011. The two day fest will witness morethan 50 colleges from across the country gruelling their grey cells to inspireinnovation beyond conventional boundaries.
‘Limitless’ is the over-arching theme ofthe competition. A host of events in the fields ranging from Literary Arts, Fine Arts and Performing Arts toManagement; and flagship events like the Fashion show and the BandEvent will provide a new-fangled lease to creativity. To rock student fancy,there will also be workshops on EthicalHacking, sculpture and more during the fest.
A powerpacked performance by India’sace Hindi rock band ‘Agnee’ duringthe festival, will be a major attraction. The band will set the Creõ stageablaze on the 10th of December 2011 along with an opening by Ashwamedh. CREÕ will have the cast of themuch awaited Marathi film Satrangi re likeAdinath Kothare, Amruta Khanvilkar, Siddharth Chandekar, Pooja Sawant, BhushanPradhan, Soumil Shringarpure, Uday Tikekar, Vidyadhar Joshi, Supriya Matkari,Madhav Abhyankar. Some of the Celebrity Judges will include Hrishitaa Bhatt, Jay Ozaof ‘Wake up Sid’ fame among other stars on campus.
“Thefest aims to give each participant and audience an enriched‘experience’. In all we have ensured that the fest is best suitedto all youth; knowledge obsessed, uber cool and creative earthlings. We are expecting a footfall of 3000 plus studentswith their mobile shutterbugs capturing invited luminaries on thecampus.“ said an elated Pooja Shah – Head of Student Activities, FLAME.
Creõwill highlight social causes andprovide it the space to create awareness. The power of the youth as changemakers will be leveraged to sensitize people about issues that plague oursociety. Creõ is associated with the organisations Maher and Advaitya to proactively integrate the social causesas integral parts of the fest.
The name of the fest has its genesis in the Latin word‘to create’. It aspires to present an environment where each participanthas a space to express themselves in an ambience that stimulates creativity ina way that captures the imagination. Not the least when creativity evolves tostand up for human ethos, the synthesis is CREÕ!
In the year 2004, thefoundation for India’sfirst school for liberal education was laid by the founders – Mr. Parag Shah and Mr. Nemish Shah. The Foundation for Liberaland Management Education (FLAME)has 04 schools – the FLAME School of Business, the FLAMESchool of Communication, the FLAME Schoolof Liberal Education and the FLAME School of Performing Arts– all of which are residential courses.
The academic pedagogy at FLAME is a melange of theoretical knowledge and hands-onprojects. Students are free to choose from a variety of courses offered andthere is no limit to how much one can learn here. The president of the foundation,Prof.Indira J. Parikh(former Dean,IIMAhmedabad) brings withher an experience of over four decades. Sports are anessential part of the curriculum and students are provided with an array offacilities to pursue any sport of their choice. FLAME is in its 5thyear and has currently 500 students on campus.
