  • Flood situation deteriorates in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh

    loop bank new4The flood situation  in Assam has deteriorated with over three lakh people being affected.

    Floods caused by incessant rainfall, left villages marooned, roads and bridges badly damaged and rivers, including Brahmaputra overflowing.

    Floods have destroyed crops in over 8,200 hectares in the Brahmaputra valley.

    Government is taking all steps to provide rescue and relief besides rehabilitation of those affected.

    Sufficient relief camps, food stock and medicines have been kept ready to tackle the flood scenario.

    National Disaster Response Force teams have been deployed.

    Toll free numbers of State Emergency Operation Centre and District Emergency Operation Centre have been made available to the public.
