Mumbai : The 12th Constro, the Country’s largest international exhibition on construction machinery, materials, methods and projects, organized by the Pune Construction Engineering Research Foundation .P.C.E.R.F is NGO working for the betterment of Construction Industry .Constro 2012 will be held in Pune from 12th Jan to 15th Jan 2012 at the Agriculture Grounds.

Speaking to reporters The Chairman of Constro 2012 exhibition Mr. Naren Kothari said that “Constro 2012 will lay major thrust on The Special Themes    Renewable Energies for Housing , Affordable Housing , Sustainable Construction and Innovative & Lightweight Construction Technologies Constro, an exclusive International Fair related to Construction Machinery, Materials, Methods & Projects started in 1985, is now credited amongst the largest event in the infrastructure & civil engineering industry in India.  The Last Constro in 2009 witnessed an overwhelming response and generated almost Rs.300-350 crore in business and over 15,000 business delegates and 1.0 lakh visitors. ”

The Constro 2012 will be organized over an area of 18000 sq mtrs with more than 300 booths. Based on past record and ever increasing interest amongst stake-holders we expect in excess of 1.5 lakh visitors and more than 20,000 business delegates to attend the event.

We are ensuring that Constro 2012 matches international benchmarks in terms of facilities offered and overall business & social ambiance.

Special highlights of the Constro 2012: Renewable Energies for housing sector :To encourage the use of renewable energies Constro has plan to display of solar panels and wind mills (capacity of 5 kw) which could be installed on buildings.

Construction Safety live demonstration at exhibition site depicting the use of safety equipments on construction site. The educative seminars followed by safety awards for the Safety Projects will be announced during the exhibition.

Series of lectures and presentations in the 4 days of period of the exhibition on the topics related to the theme as well as future technologies in construction industry.

Manufacturers will be unveiling  new technologies like Prefab construction technologies, Light steel, ceiling panels / tiles ,Manufacturers of windmills (domestic ) and solar panels related equipments, latest trends in fenestrations, Auto doors for commercial and industrial applications , Construction chemicals, waterproofing materials, steel fibre reinforced concrete products , UPVC pipes and fittings.

We want to give visitors coming to Constro 2012 an international experience and feel; we have designed Constro 2012 in such a way that it would be entirely Barrier free. Activity Centre is created for the exhibitors to give demonstration on their product in this Center.

As part of the major campaign for promotion of the exhibition, the organizers have also launched various competitions and award prizes to those coming up with best ideas and concepts for Constro entrance where architects and engineering students have participated from various colleges.

Social awareness in terms of social projects undertaken by PCERF along with other organization will also be depicted in Constro 2012.

Mitra : With the help of Mission for Transformation of Rurban Area , an voluntary organization PCERF , Constro had undertaken an project – Application of the Concept of Decentralized Urbanization based on one of the theme of Constro 2012 – Affordable Housing. Pictorial information will be displayed during the event.

Kushal by CREDAI – Kushal is a partnership project between CREDAI Pune Metro (formerly PBAP) and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to upgrade skills of construction workers in Pune city. Through project Kushal, they are empowering workers with skills that will help them along their career path and also give them a chance to earn a better livelihood, improving construction quality and reducing wastage in the process. Constro 2012 will display the information and work done by KUSHAL .

INTACH   : Constro 2012 will be creating awareness regarding Pune’s existing heritage and how it can be integrated in the city’s landscape, policy decisions and in the hearts of the people with help of INTACH.
