Fortis Mental Health Programme launches free e-Books for mental well-being of people during COVID19 Lockdown

The Department of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences at Fortis Healthcare has published a free e-reader kindle book, ‘Don’t worry! Here’s how you can keep your mind fit during a pandemic.’ The book is aimed at helping people to better manage their mental health during the COVID – 19 lockdown. Conceptualized by Dr. Samir Parikh, Director of the Department of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences and his team members – Kamna Chibber and  Mimansa Singh, with contributions from Divya Singh and Nishtha Narula the book is an easy read, helping people pick up quick tips to handle the psycho-social challenges they are facing as a result of the lockdown.

Dr. Samir Parikh, Director, Department of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences said, “We are facing an unprecedented situation. There will be feelings of stress, anxiety, isolation, depression and fear. However, what we need to realize is that this is just a phase and will pass. The book, ‘Don’t worry! Here’s how you can keep your mind fit during a pandemic’, has been published in association with Rupa publications. It is a simple read, providing people with the inputs on routine management, allowing people to pick up those tips which resonate with them the most. Our objective is to help people stay motivated and hopeful, to adjust to staying at home and make the most of the situation. Those who have previously never worked from home and those who are used to getting out every day should not feel overwhelmed. We are here to help.”
