  • Four agri-tech startups to look out for in 2022

    Agri- tech, also known as agrotechnology, applies technology to agriculture, horticulture, and aquaculture to increase output, efficiency, and profitability. Agri-tech refers to farm products, services, or applications that improve various input/output processes. Agricultural technology has evolved due to advances in agricultural science, agronomy, and agricultural engineering.

    India’s agricultural revolution, or agriculture 4.0, is being fueled by the rapid use of deep-tech solutions across the country. Entrepreneurs, investors, businesses, governments, and, most importantly, farmers have all taken notice of the rapidly growing agritech industry. The agri-tech industry is a fast-growing sector that holds a lot of promise for improving Indian agriculture and, as a result, farmer incomes.

    Here are four agri-tech startups to lookout

    Aqgromalin:

    Aqgromalin is a technology-driven agricultural diversification platform that allows farmers to enter the animal husbandry and aquaculture industries. Through a complete stack tech solution, It works both upstream and downstream of the farm gate. Farmers can use their app AQAI to order high-quality inputs and have them delivered to their land. After harvest, their downstream trading platform allows farmers to sell their products to dealers, retailers (butcher shops and fish stalls), and exporters through our network.

    Dehaat:

    DeHaat is one of the fastest-growing Agri Tech start-ups and one of the few companies in India that provides end-to-end solutions and services to the farming community. It is developing AI-enabled technology to change the farm sector’s supply chain and production efficiency. It already has 650,000 farmers in our service network in Bihar, UP, Odisha, and West Bengal, and our goal is to reach 5 million farmers by 2024.

    Ninjacart:

    Ninjacart is India’s largest fresh produce supply chain company, and it is using technology to solve one of the world’s most difficult problems. Using in-house systems that drive end-to-end operations, it connects food farmers directly with retailers, restaurants, and service providers. Their Supply Chain is currently capable of transporting 1400 tonnes of perishables from fields to companies in less than 12 hours per day.

    Arya.ag:

    Arya.ag is a value chain integrator for the agricultural industry based in India. Arya is particularly interested in igniting the ecosystem for smallholder farmers and FPOs through post-harvest interventions such as storage, credit and risk assurances, financial and market connections, and policy level improvements.
