Frederique Constant associates with Jodhpur Polo 2018 as Time Partner

All the King’s Horses and All the King’s Men rolled in the XIX^thJodhpur Polo Season on the 25^thNovember 2018 to the flourish of a dapper band and palpable euphoria at the Maharaja Gajsingh Sports Foundation Polo Ground, under the aegis of the Jodhpur Polo and Equestrian Institute. The final match was conducted between Cavalry/Chandana team and central academy and Cavalry/Chandana won the finals.

His Highness Maharaja Gajsingh II Marwar, the Patron-in-Chief, has single-handedly achieved the feat of restoring Polo in Jodhpur to its past glory and has spoken on both national and international forums about promoting the Sport of Kings. Following suit is young scion of the House of Jaipur His Highness Sawai Padmanabh Singh, a polo player par excellence and also a grand patron of the Sport.

Women riders from all over the globe congregate for India’s only premier Women’s Polo Championship in the Jodhpur Polo Season. Ashley Parekh (India), Clara Cassino (Argentina), Raya Sidorenko (Russia), Abigail Slater (UK), Lia Salvo (Argentina) and Sanya Suhag (India) are the women riders taking the Season by storm, as Jodhpur hosts the Country’s premier women’s championship matches.

This year, the Season plays host to twenty-five teams from all over India and the world. Chandna Polo, Team Benaz, Team Mayo College, Team Polofactory, Team Sahara Warriors, home Team Jodhpur- are the pride of the Season; they have spectators roaring for more! British Polo Day, the Abu Seir Cup and Argentine Polo Cup are some of the crowd pulling exhibition games showcased in the Season.

The Blue City also welcomes teams from the Land of the Nile- Egypt, the cowboys from far away Argentina and the seafaring knights on horseback all the way from UK. Veterans on the polo ground such as Simran Singh Shergill, Angad Kalan, Bhawani Singh Kalvi, Lokendra Singh, Sameer Suhag and young guns like Bhanwar Janmejai Singh, Bhanwar Kartikeya Singh, Bhanwar Himendra Singh & Bhanwar Nikhlendra Singh are stars in the making!

The guest list is enviable – Ms. Heidi Bernsdorff, President of the Indo German Marwari Horse Society is a regular spectator at almost every Season, the FIP Ambassador of Egypt, Royals from UK, France and India- all vie for a ringside view of the high octane action!

Manolo Ferdinand Llorente,Emilio Urrea Kirby, Dhruvpal Godara, Colonel Ravi Rathore, Simran Singh Shergill, George David Evans are some of the stars of this glittering galaxy of stars.
