    Published on November 27, 2013

New Delhi : After the huge success of his debut mainstream romance novel, ‘Truly Madly Deeply’, young & celebrated author Faraaz Kazi is back Vivek Banerjee, Gaurav Tiwari, Faraaz Kazi, Shibani Kashyap, Sanjana Jon (1)with his second book – “The Other Side”. The book was released recently at a do held at Landmark Bookstore, Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. The launch was followed by a discussion between authors Faraaz Kazi & Vivek Banerjee with renowned singer Shibani Kashyap, designer Sanjana Jon and Paranormal Expert Gaurav Tiwari.

The Other Side is co-authored by eminent author Vivek Banerjee and is completely opposite to Kazi’s first book, which earned him the tag of The Nicholas Sparks of India. His first book was very well received by readers and critics alike and won the author many accolades and awards including the National Debut Youth Fiction Award bestowed by the National Book Trust of India.

About his second book and partnership with Vivek Banerjee, Faraaz says: “I am fortunate to have worked with Vivek Sir, his inputs really made a difference. We also tried to introduce a lot of innovative USP’s to The Other Side. The first one being, that there might be ‘similar’ books in the same genre not many have touched the genre in the way this book has. The World’s first animated book cover was recently launched on digital platforms to unveil the first look of The Other Side. Taking innovations to another step, we also launched two teasers were especially for youtube users. We are hoping that our readers really feel the “scare” while reading the book”.

On his journey from love story to horror, Faraaz says as a writer, I don’t want to confine myself to one genre. I’ll always be a romance writer but that doesn’t mean I will only focus on romance. It’s good sometimes to take up a challenge to write a slightly difficult genre that most writers keep their hands away from. But that’s not the reason. The reality is that India is a land of myths and folklore and we have such a rich tradition. We all have encountered ghostly tales from our elders at some point in life, we all have discussed spooky stories over camp fires and college trips and hence it was important that someone wrote about this fear that we all have experienced and learn to live with- the fear of the unknown.

From a honeymoon in the hill that goes horribly wrong, to an obsessed lover who wants his first love in life and in death; From a mentally deranged man who collects body parts of various women, to form his dream girl to a skeptic who enters a mansion of horrors to win a bet and much more, this book is filled with scenarios that are guaranteed to give you Goosebumps.

‘The Other Side’ is a collection of thirteen tales of the paranormal; a world that our eyes refuse to see, our ears deny hearing and our senses ignore the feel of. This is a book for someone who is brave enough to take up this invitation to journey through uncharted waters along with the authors, who were inspired by some bizarre experiences to pen down this work where the lines of reality have been blurred by the footsteps of imagination. Each story takes you on a tour de force of unadulterated horror and draws upon the deepest fear in the human mind- the fear of the UNKNOWN!

Do read it! This book will give your thought process an addiction for horror, says Gaurav Tiwari.

During the launch, singer Shibani Kashyap also performed a special song dedicated to Faraaz’s new book ‘The Other Side’. She also presented few lines of her song ‘Sajnaa Aa Bhi Jaa…’

Sanjana Jon was all praised for young author. She said, it’s a great book I gone through in long time, when I started reading it I just couldn’t put it down.
