Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has said that fundamentalist terrorism is the biggest problem in the world and not only India, but the whole world has been the victim of the menace. Addressing the closing ceremony of the two-day Savarkar Sahitya Sammelan in New Delhi today, Mr Gadkari said, progressive democratic nations are uniting to fight against terrorism.
The Minister appealed people to take inspiration from the life of Freedom Fighter and Visionary Vinayak Damodar Savarkar and work towards eliminating social evils like casteism and untouchability from society. He said, Veer Savarkar was a revolutionary, who not only fought for the nation, but also opposed untouchability. Mr Gadkari said, Veer Savarkar always advocated for social equality and harmony.
Former Governor of Maharashtra Ram Naik and former Gujarat Governor O P Kohli were also present on the occasion.
