Gautam Reddy V and Ranadhir Reddy G team became winners of ‘Rotary Golf for Charity”

Hyderabad : Rotary Club of Hyderabad Deccan a primary unit of District 3150 of Rotary International to organised 5th Edition of Rotary Golf for Charity, an  Annual Golf Fund Raising Tournament here in the city at Hyderabad Golf Club, Seven Tombs, Golconda, Sunday morning 6am to 12noon. 124 Golfers participated in it.  

 According to Rotarian Sailesh Gumideli, President of Rotary Club of Hyderabad Deccan, who spoke at the Rotary Golf for Chairty Prize Distribution function said, they were successful in raising Rs 1, 08, 60,000(One Crore Sixty Thousand). 

 

These funds will be used for Setting up of Dialysis Centers at Khammam and Secunderabad; setting up a new Diagnostic Centre in Secunderabad and also setting up ten e-Schools.

 

In a tournament that fought closely by 124 golfers, Gautham Reddy V and Ranadhir Reddy became winners with 42 points.  With the same points but based on some other parameters, Hardik Chawla and Rahul Ajay became Runners Up and Rajiv Ratan and Sanjay V. Jerrani became second runner up. Sameer Mahendra bagged a recognition for Longest Drive(270 yards).  And M. Ramchandra Reddy won ‘Closest to Pin’ Award(9 inches).  The winners were given away awards

 

Sailesh Gumideli, President of Rotary Club of Hyderabad Deccan; Vinod Arya, Director Fund Raising, Vikram Devraj, President of Hyderabad Golf Club graced the occasion along with several Rotarians with their spouses.  Former DGP Swaranjit Singh and others also graced the function.

 

The Tournament which began its journey in the year 2016 at Hyderabad Gold Club at Golconda raised in its first year a moderate sum of Rs 12 lakh. With that money we have put up Dialysis Center at Gurudwara in Secunderabad.  This was set up in association with Gurudwara Medical Center and Mahaveer Trust. It has done 36,000 Dialysis so far.  With the funds generated in the year 2017. With the funds raised the it set up a blood bank at Challan Nursing Home in Ameerpet. The bank has so far collected 36,000 units of blood. In the year 2018 it has raised 60 lakhs through the same Golf Tournament.  The funds raised last year was used to set up the state-of-the-art “10 Colour Flow Cytometer and Blood Culture equipment” at Basavatharakam Cancer Hospital

 

It is helping in diagnosis and monitoring of Blood Cancers in Children from families below the poverty line free of cost. Since the equipment set up it has performed 46000 investigations.  On each investigation Rotary saved Rs 32,000/- to the patient.  It is useful for Pediatric blood cancer patients and is resultin in better treatment thereby reducing mortality. It is expected to save the lives of 400 Children from the lower income group per annum. It was set up at Indo American Cancer Hospital and is helping children from the MNJ Hospital.

Some of the Charities, says Shailesh Gumideli, the Club involved include: Blood Doantion with Mobile Blood Donation Van; Polio Eradication; Collected 42,000 units of blood; Expanding Dialysis Center at Secunderabad Gurudwara; Over 30, 367 Dialysis Conducted at Just Rs 300/- each; Donated Flow Cytometer for Better Cancer Diagnosis in Children; Supporting Child Cancer Patients of MNJ Hospital; Distributing Sewing Machines to help Women earn;  Making Women Independent by Conducting Sewing Classes; English Language Training  to School Children
