GCDC , a worldwide cloth diaper changing challenge to promote the benefits of cloth diapering in Mumbai on 27th April

Mumbai :As we count down to Earth Day on April 22, the yearlong campaign of environmental sustainability awareness, challenges, and initiatives encourages masses to take part in various environmental sustainability efforts and provides education and ideas for individual actions. It’s the little things that matter, they say. Ask a question to yourself. “Do you know if cloth or disposable diapers are better for the environment”? In tandem with the cause, Bumberry diapers is hosting, The Great Cloth Diaper Change (GCDC) in Mumbai, Kochi and Jaipur, a worldwide cloth diaper changing challenge helping to promote the benefits of cloth diapering on 27th April. The 9th annual Great Cloth Diaper Change in April 2019 will spread awareness on cloth diapering in Mumbai. Last year, On April 21st, 2018, thousands of participants continued the tradition and joined together to promote the use of cloth diapers at 120 locations from 11 countries as 2,521 reusable cloth diaper changes happened around the world. Registrations for this year have begun and interested parents can log onto www.bumberry.com

The Great Cloth Diaper Changing Challenge (GCDC) is back to challenge the disposable diapers and to promote the initiative to bring the use of cloth diapers back into the mainstream and encourage more people to accept the eco-friendly way of diapering babies. This year Bumberry, a brand that pioneered the idea of modern cloth diapers into Indian market, is organizing this global event on 27th April 2019 at Phoenix Market City, Kurla. GCDC aims to encourage masses and to create general awareness about Cloth Diapers. Many new-age mothers are now diapering their toddlers in cloth instead of the convenient disposable ones.

Mr. Kutti Krishnan, Founder of Bumberry, shared, “Every year tons of disposable diapers are dumped in the garbage which is very harmful for the environment. These diapers are harmful for the babies too as their skin are very sensitive and they can suffer from rash or allergies. Our aim is to keep babies away from such allergies also these cloth diapers are much cheaper than the disposable diapers. We are happy to play the host of The Great Cloth Diaper Change (GCDC) event this year, the most trending event to create awareness on sustainability, this event you will see how concious parents choose cloth diapers for leaving a better, healthy environment for their babies”.

The Environmental Protection Agency reports that about 20 billion disposable diapers are dumped in landfills each year, accounting for more than 3.5 million tons of waste. A diaper takes more than 500 years to decompose.
