United States: From the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), GCT Semiconductor, Inc., a leading supplier of 4G solutions to the global market, has announced the display of a LTE PCI Express full mini card and a LTE portable router highlighted at the LTE ecosystem wall at the Verizon Wireless booth. Both devices showcase GCT’s highly-integrated monolithic LTE single-chip, GDM7240, that enables mobile terminals to take advantage of the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network.

GCT’s GDM7240 is the most mature LTE chip available today, designed to meet the rapidly-growing demands for higher speed data, more mobility, enhanced applications and global roaming. This superior LTE solution offers high performance, low power consumption and high throughput. GDM7240 is in volume production now and is currently used in one of Verizon Wireless’ recently-released 4G USB modems.

The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network, launched in December 2010, is the fastest, most advanced 4G network in the United States, providing speeds up to 10 times faster than Verizon Wireless’ 3G network. Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network currently reaches one-third of all Americans, with plans to expand the network to the company’s entire 3G coverage area over the next three years.

GCT’s GDM7240 will be highlighted from Jan. 6-9 in Verizon Wireless’ booth (#35216 in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center). For more information about the LTE Innovation Center and Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network, visit www.verizonwireless.com
