Chennai : In celebration of World Patient Safety Day today, Gleneagles Hospital Chennai organised a seminar focusing on the safety practices in Orthopedic, Joint Replacement, and Spine Surgery. The aim of the seminar is to bring together leading healthcare professionals to address the critical issue of patient safety in these specialized areas of medicine. Around a hundred doctors, nurses and managers from city hospitals participated in the seminar.
World Patient Safety Day, observed annually and spearheaded by the World Health Organization (WHO), highlights the need to ensure safe medical procedures and prevent harm in healthcare settings. This year’s seminar will focus on safe practices in orthopaedic and trauma surgery, safe anaesthesia practises. Organisational safety standards will be reviewed with. The value of checklists and their value in Orthopedic Surgery will also be highlighted.
