    GM India opens Dealership in Howrah; Launches Chevrolet Beat

    Calcutta, West Bengal, July 12, 2010 /India PRwire/ — In its resolve to reach out to its customers, General Motors India today opened yet another dealership in West Bengal and also launched the all new Chevrolet Beat. With this, GM now has 6 showrooms and 9 Service Centres in West Bengal taking the overall tally to 209 Sales Points and 200 Service outlets across the country with the opening of the new dealership M/s. Priti Motor Udyog Pvt. Ltd., Showroom located at 112 Salkia School Road, Howrah – 711106 and Workshop located at 20 Salkia School Road Swapanaloke Building Complex, Howrah – 711106. GM India has also showcased all its Chevrolet brand of vehicles including Chevrolet Spark, Chevrolet Cruze, Chevrolet Tavera, Chevrolet Optra, Chevrolet Captiva, Aveo and the Aveo Uva.
    Inaugurating the new outlet, Mr. Ankush Arora, VP Sales, Marketing and After Sales, General Motors in India said, we are pleased to appoint Priti Motor as our partner in Howrah to support the ever increasing customer base of Chevrolet vehicles in the region.     The Chevrolet Beat launched today is the new global mini car to be the key pillar of Chevrolet’s growth strategy in India. Based on GM’s global mini-vehicle architecture, the experts took 27 months to develop the Beat. Chevrolet Beat will be launched in over 150 markets around the world including those in Europe, other parts of Asia and North America in the coming days. Aimed at meeting the highest quality and performance standards in the most sophisticated markets in a competitive environment, the global vehicle was put through over 1 million kilometers of intensive durability tests in extreme weather conditions and crash tests both in India and abroad.
