Gold prices rose 45 rupees, to 20,580 rupees per ten grams at Delhi’s bullion market, today, on emergence of buying for the ongoing marriage season, amid

firm global cues. But silver held steady at 44,000 rupees per kilo, in restricted buying activity.

In the global markets, gold gained 0.3 per cent, to 1,366 dollars an ounce. Gold rose after Fitch Ratings downgraded Greece’s credit rating, raising concerns about the European sovereign-debt crisis, and boosting demand for the precious metal.
