    Kokrajhar : Goreswar Town FC of Baksa emerged champions in the 4th BTC-Army Goodwill Football League 2019-20 which concluded Sunday at Kokrajhar Government Higher Secondary and Multiple Purpose school in Kokrajhar.

    In the final match played before packed spectators, the Goreswar Town FC defeated Bhergaon FC (Udalguri) by 4-0 goal to lift the championship.

    The Champion team were awarded a trophy and Rs 2 lakh while the runners up team received Rs one lakh along with a trophy. Jigyas Deka of Goreswar FC was adjudged as Best Player of Tournament.

    BTC Deputy Chief Kampa Borgoyary, BTC executive member for Sports and Youth Affairs Doneswar Goyary and Brig A D Saha, of the Army Red Horns Division attended the function.

    The football league was organized by BTC administration and Indian Army to create sporting environment among the youths in the region.

    Earlier, the opening ceremony of match began with Army Mass Band display followed by traditional Bagurumba dance performance. The tournament closed with a splendid Gatka (Sikh Martial Art) performance and a musical extravaganza including a Mega Rock show.
