  • Government reaches out to all parties ahead of monsoon session

    meetThe All party meeting is underway for the smooth conduct of business in the Monsoon session of Parliament which is beginning from Monday.

    Key bills including food security and land acquisition will figure in the Monsoon Session.

    The meeting called by the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath.

    Leaders of Political Parties in both houses of Parliament are participating in the meeting.

    The session being held from August 5 to 30 has just 16 working days at a time when there are 116 pending legislations.

    Chidambaram has already said that official amendments to the DTC bill, which seeks to overhaul the over 50-year-old income tax law, will be introduced towards the end of the Monsoon session.
