Government has decided to launch a school education channel. The Human Resource Development Ministry has given the in principle approval for the channel. The representatives of state school boards who participated in the State board’s confectionery said that the National Council for Education, Research and Training, NCERT has been authorized to be the nodal agency for the channel.

He said that school boards will give their suggestions on the programme content for the proposed Gyan Darshan channel . The meeting of the school boards was presided over by the Human Resource Development Minister Mr. Kapil Sibal. Our correspondent quoting official sources adds that also focus on open learning besides Adult education.

The meeting also decided to adopt compulsory, continuous evaluation system for the students apart from short temp vocational courses catering to the growing demand of the industry.
