New Delhi: Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said government is considering a National Litigation Policy which would help in reducing pendency of cases. Addressing at the Samvidhan Diwas function in New Delhi yesterday, Mr Singh said government has appointed 19 Law Officers and 34 Additional Solicitor General (ASGs) in different High Courts during the last two years.
He also highlighted the separation of power among the Legislative, Executive and Judiciary for progress of the country in the positive direction. Referring to the GST, he said it would bring a regime of one nation, one tax which has brought transparency in the Indian Tax System.
The Home Minister termed triple talaq a burning issue and said in a developing country like India, women cannot be treated as secondary citizens. He also favored wide national level discussions on the contentious issue of Uniform Civil Code.
Referring to the Directive Principles of State Policy of the Consitution, he said, State’s shall endeavor to implement Uniform Civil Code for its citizens. Mr Singh also highlighted the issues of Women Empowerment, Property Rights and Rights to Adoption.
