  • Griffins International School celebrates National Youth Day with splendour

    Kolkata / Kharagpur : Griffins International School Kharagpur successfully celebrated National Youth Day. Though 160 years have passed, Swami Vivekananda is still a youth icon. And in an attempt to inspire, ignite, and empower the nation’s youth, India celebrates National Youth Day on January 12, thereby commemorating his birth anniversary.

    Griffins International School, Kharagpur celebrated 160th Birth Anniversary of this spiritual giant through a Special Assembly that comprised of skits depicting various significant events of his life and also on social issues like Human Trafficking.

    While Chairman Mr Abishek Kumar Yadav, Principal Ms Renu Aneja and Headmistress Ms Ruma Mazumdar garlanded the statue of Swami Vivekananda, the Coordinators paid floral tribute.

    In her speech, Ms Aneja drew the attention of the young minds on Swamiji’s views on Karma Yoga. In his speech addressed to the students, Mr Yadav quoted Swamiji and highlighted his importance to this day. He also related it to Human Trafficking and shared tips with the kids as to how to remain safe in the cyber world.

    The whole purpose of this Special Assembly was to emphasise and encourage the present generation to walk on the footsteps of this revered monk.

    In his speech, the Chairman and the Academic Director Mr. Abishek Kumar Yadav said, “The iconic sage Swami Vivekananda was the first among spiritual leaders in modern times to speak for the masses and propagated Indian values globally. We all should remember that school plays a fundamental role in shaping minds. It is our responsibility to educate our children about the glory of their motherland, the rich heritage of the nation and the legacy of brave leaders. We should reread and celebrate the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda to inspire the youth to achieve greater goals in life.”
