Speaking about her contribution to this noble cause, Dr Gunjan Shrivastava, a Professional Artist, Educator, Art Critic and Co-founder of You Lead India Foundation said, “Social initiatives like these are close to my basic objective of being an artist which is to translate and transform social growth. I am absolutely humbled to be able to contribute to the thoughtful initiative of support by both The Curators Art and CRY. In my artwork I have replicated recollection of childhood that I was blessed with. The artwork depicts happy times through childhood that weave happy memories for a lifetime.”

The artwork – A Million Stitches is created by Dr Gunjan Shrivastava that captures her unique style of cyanotype with stitching on handmade paper. The artwork inspired Gunjan to pen down a few lines of poetry that reflects the essence of a happy childhood.

    A Million Stitches

    A million stitches! A million memories…

Jumping on the puddle, solving puzzles.

    Did that make sense?

That one lone friend, holding hands,

    Walking in the garden,

    Picking flowers, lucid and fragrant.

    Running after each other,

Hiding in unknown places with no fear.

    Did that make sense?

Our childhoods are fragments of memories…

When you stitch them together, with one another…

    It all makes sense!
