  • Hasmukh Adhia to retire on Nov 30; Arun Jaitley praises his contribution

    Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has lauded the contribution of Finance Secretary Hasmukh Adhia who will retire on 30th of this month. In a Facebook post titled- Dr Adhia retires, Mr Jaitley said, the Finance Secretary showed his leadership in the implementation of various social security programmes of the government through banking services. His contributions in successfully accomplishing the Mudra Yojana has been laudable.

    He also said, Dr Adhia’s  tenure as the Revenue Secretary will be remembered for various initiatives where he provided the bureaucratic leadership in shaping and implementation of the policy. He said, the campaign against black money both within and outside the country was the initial highlight of the Revenue Department.

    The Finance Minister said, Dr  Adhia’s term witnessed the historic constitutional amendment on the GST being approved and his tenure also saw an exponential increase in  tax base and the tax realisations. Mr Jaitley said, he is unquestionably a highly competent, disciplined, no-nonsense civil servant with impeccable integrity.
