The Delhi High Court today sought a response from the Centre on a PIL seeking a direction to take control of BCCI and all its cricketing affairs including the IPL.
A bench of Chief Justice D Murugesan and Justice Jayanth Nath also issued notices to BCCI and the Delhi government.
The PIL filed by NGO sought a direction to the Sports Ministry to declare BCCI as a national sports federation and take control of the BCCI and all its cricketing activities.
The petition also sought constitution of a fast track court for the trial of cricketers and others who have recently been arrested in connection with the spot-fixing and betting. The high court has now fixed the matter for further hearing on August 14.
