New Delhi :   HCL Concerts successfully presented the second virtual only classical concert yesterday on November 16, 2018 featuring “The Anirudh Varma Collective”. Streamed live on HCL Concerts’ official Facebook page, the concert garnered viewership in India and abroad. The virtual concert series was launched by HCL Concerts on World Music Day this year and the first concert featured Kaushiki Chakraborty and Purbayan Chatterjee. The virtual concerts aim to increase the audience base of classical music by offering people across the world a glimpse into Indian classical performing arts, from the comfort of their homes.

“The Anirudh Varma Collective” is a classical fusion band — bringing artists and musicians of diverse musical and cultural backgrounds together to form a unique musical identity. The band is known for its contemporary representation of Hindustani Classical Music and comprises a host of veteran and young musicians. One of HCL Concerts’ aims is to provide a platform to young artists like Anirudh so they may reach out to a wider set of audience.

HCL has championed the classical arts and has taken active steps to conserve and popularize it through HCL Concerts over the last 20 years.  This year HCL launched the HCL Music app which is a free-to-download and use mobile application, dedicated to Indian classical music in order to help younger audiences appreciate the nuances of India’s ancient artforms.
