Lockdown decelerated pace of spread of COVID-19, averted many casualties: Health Ministry

Health Ministry has issued an advisory on re-processing and re-use of eye-protection goggles used as a crucial components of Personal Protective Equipment, PPE, kits. It said, goggles confirming to prescribed Bureau of Indian Standard, BIS specifications can be reused after proper disinfection.
The Ministry said, reprocessing must be done after every use before using it again. It advised to adhere to manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning and disinfection of goggles. The Ministry said, goggles may be issued to each health care worker, who will de-contaminate them after every use.
