
Bengaluru : The Heartfulness Institute, under its flagship environmental initiative “Forests by Heartfulness,” proudly announces its launch in Karnataka with a “Plantation Drive” at Bhoothanahalli, Bengaluru. 200 Volunteers across all age groups from various backgrounds joined hands to plant 1000+ saplings in phase one.
This initiative aims to significantly enhance local green cover, restore native biodiversity, and encourage communities to actively contribute to long-term environmental sustainability. The event is expected to bring together volunteers, students, resident associations, corporate groups, environmental enthusiasts, and local citizens.
Forests by Heartfulness initiative will focus on region-specific native saplings chosen for their ecological impact, climate resilience, and support for long-term biodiversity. Environmental experts from Heartfulness and the officials from Karnataka Forest Department will guide volunteers and local community in scientific methods of planting and nurturing practices.
Shri Eshwar B Khandre, Hon’ble Minister, Forest Ecology and Environment, Government of Karnataka in his recorded message appreciated the initiative, stating, “Community-driven initiatives like Forests by Heartfulness play a crucial role in restoring our ecosystems. It is inspiring to see citizens come together with such dedication. Every sapling planted today is an investment in Karnataka’s greener and healthier future. He also mentioned Govt. of Karnataka is committed to promote such initiatives. What stands out in this initiative is its emphasis on native species, natural methods, and community participation. Efforts like these help restore ecological balance while inspiring people—especially youth—to connect with nature.”

Shri Sangeet and Shri Anoop from Forests by Heartfulness said: Forests by Heartfulness (FBH) is an ecological movement and initiative of the Heartfulness Institute that stands for creating spaces where humans coexist in harmony with Nature. Its primary purpose is ecosystem restoration, focusing on the conservation of native, endemic, and threatened tree species while sequestering carbon and supporting local communities.
