Hectic parleys are on among BJP leaders to elect the new Chief Minister of Goa following the demise of Manohar Parrikar.

Union minister Nitin Gadkari held talks with party leaders and alliance partner Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP).

The coalition government includes the BJP with 12 MLAs, the Goa Forward Party-3, the MGP-3 and 3 Independents.

Meanwhile, Congress MLAs met Governor Mridula Sinha to stake claim to form government.
