Boca Raton, FL : High America ,a 501c3 whose mission is to educate and generate awareness on the opiate epidemic, has appointed Ronald Silver as new board member.

“I am honored to be on High America’s Board of Directors” said Ronald Silver. “It is an amazing thing to be a part of an organization that is looking to better society and help communities all around with opioid addiction” added Silver.

Prior to joining the board of directors at High America, Ronald Silver was a member on the board of Directors for Our Kids of Miami-Dade/Monroe County as well as a board member on the Directions of Adrienne Arscht Center for the performing Arts of Miami-Dade County.

In 1968, Silver received his Juris Doctor degree and a Bachelor’s in finance from the University of Miami. Holding titles like Prosecuting Attorney in North Miami Beach, Assistant City Attorney, Municipal Judge for Lauderdale Lakes, and General Counsel City of Miami General Employee’s and Sanitation Employee’s Retirement Trust Silver has made a name for himself throughout South Florida. Beginning a career in politics in 1978, he was elected in to the Florida House of Representatives and in 2002 was a success as the Dean of the Florida Legislature.

After much recognition for his roles in society and Florida Legislature he was honored with 4 awards in 2014: The Patches award of Excellence; the Ancient Spanish Monastery Foundation award for preserving the Legacy of Excellence; the Spanish Monastery Award – Outstanding Local Leader and the Florida Sheriff’s Association Legislative Award; and Senator of the year in 1996.
