  • Hilton Hotels & Resorts Celebrates Music’s Biggest Night® With The 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards

    Published on January 20, 2012

MCLEAN, Va. – Hilton Hotels & Resorts celebrates 24 years as the Official Hotel Partner of the GRAMMY® Awards. During Music’s Biggest Night Hilton is  giving its guests and team members around the world opportunities to win once-in-a-lifetime GRAMMY experiences while supporting several charitable causes. Starting January 17 through February 20, Hilton Hotels & Resorts Facebook fans can enter a contest for a chance to win a trip for two to the GRAMMY Awards in 2013.

“Hilton has long cherished its partnership with The Recording Academy® and we are honored to be a partner for this year’s event,” said Dave Horton, global head, Hilton Hotels & Resorts. “We are pleased to present our loyal guests and Hilton team members a first-hand experience at the 54th GRAMMY Awards honoring the biggest and brightest music talent. We look forward to this year’s event and continuing this valuable relationship and continued support of the GRAMMY Foundation®.”

Hilton Hotels & Resorts is hosting a contest on Facebook where the grand prize winner will receive a trip for two to the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards in 2013. The trip will include airfare, a three-night stay at The Beverly Hilton, two tickets to the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards, and two tickets to the official GRAMMY Celebration® after-party. To enter, Facebook fans are invited to share a story of their musical journey at www.facebook.com/Hilton. Fans and friends will vote on submissions through Facebook and then a panel of judges from Hilton Hotels & Resorts will determine the winner. The contest began January 17 and runs through February 20, 2012.

In support of the partnership for the upcoming 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards, Hilton Hotels & Resorts offered a variety of extraordinary prize packages to Hilton HHonors members and team members. Hilton HHonors members were invited to participate in an online auction using their program points as currency. This year’s Hilton Hotels & Resorts Ultimate GRAMMY Weekend Auction had the highest bid in the history of the HHonors program. The generous bidder received a music-lover’s trip of a lifetime, complete with airfare, accommodations at The Beverly Hilton, tickets to the exclusive weekend events including The MusiCares® Person of the Year Tribute Gala honoring Sir Paul McCartney, The Recording Academy & Clive Davis Pre-GRAMMY Gala — Hilton Hotels & Resorts is a title sponsor of this private and special event — and the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards. The record-breaking auction resulted in 1,950,000 HHonors points between the two highest bidders. Hilton rounded that number to two million points, converted the points to cash and donated $10,000 to the GRAMMY Foundation and the GRAMMY Museum® .

Hilton Hotels & Resorts also encouraged its team members around the world to celebrate and recognize music’s influence with the third annual Hilton Rock Star Team Member contest. Employees could submit photos, video and stories capturing the impact music has had on their lives for a chance to win. Four Hilton Hotels & Resorts team members and their guests were selected in December to receive VIP treatment, including roundtrip airfare for two to Los Angeles and tickets to the GRAMMY Awards and official GRAMMY Celebration after-party.

Hilton Hotels & Resorts is proud to support the GRAMMY Community Blogger Progam, which hosts 11 music bloggers and one fashion blogger from across the country to cover all of the GRAMMY Week activities. Fans can follow these bloggers at www.grammy.com/blogs.

The 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held on “GRAMMY Sunday,” February 12, 2012, at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles. The event will be broadcast live in HD TV and 5.1 surround sound on the CBS Television Network from 8-11:30 p.m. (ET/PT).  To learn more about Hilton Hotels & Resorts ongoing partnership visit www.hilton.com/grammys.
