    Honda brings its biggest road safety awareness initiative for college students to Guntur

    Guntur: Firmly believing that spreading road safety awareness today will make a safer India tomorrow, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd.’s (HMSI) brought its road safety awareness initiative to Guntur for the first time.

    Honda’s unique National Road Safety Awareness program educates youth – the future of India on the serious issue of road safety in a fun way. In Guntur, Honda sensitized over 2,000 college students of Chalapathi Institute of Technology in 3 days.

    In just 7 months since start, this social responsibility movement by Honda 2Wheelers India has educated more than 1 Lac students in 60 cities on road safety.

    Speaking on Honda’s commitment towards sensitizing people on road safety, Mr. Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President – Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “As a responsible corporate, Honda 2Wheelers India is actively educating society on road safety since 2001. We are the youngest democracy of the world. Youth drive India’s future. Honda believes that youth are not only road users today but also future riders. By imparting ‘Right knowledge at Right age’, Honda is creating a road safety mindset in children from young age and build a safer India on roads tomorrow. We are proud that our National Road Safety Awareness program has made over 1 Lac college students safe road users. The response of students of Guntur has been very positive as they have embraced road safety as a way of life.”

    Honda’s National Road Safety Awareness program made learning fun yet scientific through:

    1. SCIENTIFICALLY DEVISED LEARNING MODULE: Honda’s skilled instructors set the foundation with theory sessions for students on road rules, traffic signs and safe riding etiquettes
    2. INTERACTIVE VIRTUAL LEARNING: With many college students either being new or potential future riders, Honda’s virtual simulator increased students’ risk prediction ability on roads before actual riding
    3. EXISTING DRIVERS HONING RIDING SKILLS: Those students who are already existing riders tested and honed their riding skills through slow riding activities and riding on narrow planks
    4. WOMEN EMPOWERMENT THROUGH DREAM RIDING PROGRAM: Honda’s safety instructors empowered female students to independently ride a two-wheeler in just 4 hours under Dream Riding program – designed exclusively for women. The women focused program offers free of cost riding training to every woman who wants to become an independent two wheeler rider
    5. LEARNING IN A FUN WAY: To ensure that the young students could learn more about road safety, Honda also conducted fun educational activities like road safety games and quizzes on daily basis.
