Unsung heroes of the pandemic aided to ease their financial crisis
Hothur Foundation is a philanthropic organisation that works towards uplifting the economically backward. Under the leadership of founder Hothur Shadab Wahab, the foundation also provides the challenged with educational, medical, maternity, psychological and matrimonial guidance, rehabilitation and counselling for survivors of gender-based violence.
Over the last 1.5 years, when the country has faced a really tough time due to the pandemic, Hothur expressed his gratitude towards the efforts of the nurses and medical staff, as they have been true Corona warriors.
“A lot of overworked healthcare workers have also been underpaid due to lack of funding. It was an occupational hazard and they put themselves at the risk of infection. Unfortunately, healthcare workers and their families account for 1 in 6 hospitalised due to infection,” says a member of the foundation.
Hothur Shadab Wahab says, “We thank all the healthcare workers who have kept our country and hospitals running. A truly selfless act to be facing the pandemic with known risks to health.”
In order to help these healthcare workers who were facing financial crisis, Hothur Foundation’s #HothurWarriors have been working towards easing their burden by providing them with financial support.
