Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival Preview:
This edition marks the first time the event will take place in Los Angeles. The inaugural edition, unfolded in 2004, captured on DVD and a live album, was an unprecedented collection of guitar icons from rock, blues, and contemporary music. The two-disc DVD from that event has since become one of the world’s top-selling music DVDs.
As in previous editions, the world’s most renowned guitar players will grace the stage, such as Stephen Stills, Carlos Santana, ZZ Top, Buddy Guy, Sheryl Crow, Joe Bonamassa, John McLaughlin, Robbie Robertson, Albert Lee, Roger McGuinn, John Mayer, and Santana, joining Clapton.
Other big names on the performing artists roster include Gary Clark Jr, Taj Mahal, Keb’ Mo’, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Jimmy Vaughan, and Eric Gales.
Among the line-up, several will make their Crossroads debuts, including Eric Gales, Samantha Fish, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, The Brothers Landreth, and Ariel Posen. And to be noted, among the star-studded lineup, only Clapton will perform both nights.
Elsewhere on the weekend, some of the world’s best guitar and gear manufacturers, such as Fender, Gibson, BOSS, D’Angelico, Focusrite, Ibanez, Mark Bass, Marshall, Ernie Ball, Mitchell, Shure, Martin, Yamaha, PRS, others, will host interactive exhibits for guitar enthusiasts to plug in and play new products and classic favorites.
In addition, Guitar Center will also exhibit important selections from its must-see Legends Collection of historically significant guitars, including Clapton’s “Blackie” Strat and cherry ES-335 and Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Lenny” Strat.
