Kokrajhar : Kokrajhar police today recovered huge cache of banned contraband worth over Rupees 20 lakhs from a vehicle at Karigaon in Kokrajhar district.
The vehicle with registration no NL 026508 was coming from Tripura and on way towards West Bengal.
Kokrajhar police station officer incharge J Barman said based on inputs, a search operation was carried out in the vehicle at Karigapn along the National Highway 3-C and recovered 18 numbers of contraband packets weighing about 1 quintal, worth 20 lakhs of rupees in market. The driver of the vehicle Shyam Kumar Mahato was detained. Mahato hails from Jalalpur village in Samastipur district of Bihar.
