ICAR seminar in AAU

Jorhat : Sri Lankan Air Force enthralled nearly thousand Air Warriors and their families as if it was a pre-Dussera celebration that touched to the bottom of the heart which showcases growing harmony between the two Air Forces along with Indo-Sri Lanka relation with song and dances along with the rhythm of music with the beats of drum holding the National Flag of both the nations which was kicked off at Air Force Station, Jorhat which is one out of the four venues that the Sri Lankan Air Force to perform, inform official sources here on Thursday today.

 

According to Razia Thakur, the Public Relation Officer of Air Force Station, Jorhat said that a team of 60 personnel from Sri Lanka Air Force Arts team presented and enthralled performances of their music and dance extravaganza at the Kendriya Vidhyalaya, Air Force Station auditorium which really touched the hearts of Indian Air Force personnel, Indian Army etc. The Sri Lankan Air Force team was flown by a special Indian Air Force Aircraft from Sri Lanka on September 26th. The team who is on a good will mission will visit and perform at three other bases in the country who is also on invitation by the Indian Air Force.

 

Air Vice Marshall Pawam Mohey, VSM, Administration incharge of Eastern Air Command (EAC) attended as the chief guest for the first ever event of International level which was held for the entire Eastern Air Command. Air Commodore SK Verma, Air Officer Commanding of AFS, Jorhat along with officers from Air Headquarter of EAC was present along with Air Warriors including families which continue for 130 minutes.

 

The opening ceremony started with the Sri Lankan Magul Sera puja dance followed by variety of other traditional dances, songs and musical performances which was performed in Hindi, Tamil, Sinhalese and English which has strengthened the Cultural Bond between the two countries. To mention about the Sri Lankan air Force Arts team which was formed in 1988, since than the team has been performing to grow ties between countries and moreover the team have visited countries like Italy, France, Russia, China, Pakistan, Korea, Australia which so far has gained a big momentum for good will mission, said official sources.
