Bangalore : In just two weeks since call for entries was announced, the prestigious scholarship award 2014 has received an overwhelming response from engineering students. Over 600 engineering students including budding women student engineers applied for this award that has total prize money of Rs. 8 lakhs across various categories.
“We are seeing interest from engineering students across India mainly from Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, and Bangalore, said Shekhar Sanyal, Director and Country Head, The IET India. He also added that we expect this number to double in the coming weeks.
The IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology) has instituted the annual IET Scholarship Awards which is in its second year now, to underline the organisation’s commitment towards strengthening India’s engineering ecosystem and rewarding and celebrating individual excellence and innovation among undergraduate engineering students, including women engineers.
Engineering students from across India can apply for this prestigious scholarship via a dedicated website http://scholarships.theiet.in/ that provides eligibility criteria and other details of the scholarship award, and also allows students to apply online. For the 2014 award cycle, both second and third year full time regular UG Engineering programme student from an AICTE/UGC approved institution can apply. In 2015 and beyond, second, third and fourth year B.Tech students, will be eligible.
